Got out to a gig for the second time in a month (thanks to little brothers mad babysitting 5k1llZ ) – this time Arctic Monkeys at the Coal Exchange .
It’s not far past Freshers Week here so it felt like being on the set of Bugsy Malone at times.
First impressions were:
- wow, they started early
- seven or eight songs, and I did’nt know any of them. maybe they’re trying out new material? The moshpit seem to know them though…
Of course, that was the support act – would have been obvious except they had similar accents, sounded vaguely similar and bussed in a lot of fans. That’s what happens when you discover bands on the net I suppose…
The real thing were very good indeed – ticked all the boxes for me anyway (’a certain romance’, ‘bet she looks good on the dancefloor’ and ‘fake tales of san francisco’ – available on all discerning p2p networks ) .
